Micia is part of a large extended family originally from Holland, and first showed up at First Met United at the age of 4 months. She’s been part of countless Children Youth and Young Adult programs and events. Camp Pringle is one of her favourite places, and she’s happiest outdoors; walking, kayaking, hiking, biking or at a campfire. Micia and Kim were married in the First Met chapel, and raised their two children within the larger church family.
Grateful to have lived in Victoria her whole life, Micia went to Vic High School, Camosun College and the University of Victoria. Scouting has been a big part of their family life, and Micia is a long time Scouter. In addition to being outdoors, at BVU or with her Scout group, Micia loves being with her family and pets, walking with friends, reading and learning.
She’s excited to be part of our BVU community, and looks forward to engaging youth of all ages in an enriching and lively connection to the stories in the bible, and new, fun and creative journeys in faith and caring for creation.
