Date: Sundays – Starting Sept. 10
Time: 10:00 am – 10:45 am
Place: Chapel at First Met
Leadership: Min-Goo KangAs the process of amalgamation between Broad View United and First Met United continues, it remains crucial for us to dedicate time to building a strong sense of community. By bringing everyone together, we aim to foster a deep sense of togetherness. What better way to enrich our Sunday mornings than by creating a dedicated space for connection?
Throughout this program, we will explore various media for storytelling, including photographs, rocks, candles, leaves, and strings of yarn, among others. Through these media, we will engage with one another in meaningful conversations, enabling all of us to experience a profound sense of connection. This initiative is open to all, and we invite everyone to participate.
Note: This program is being offered temporarily until the Cedar Hill X site becomes available

As we navigate the process of combining Broad View United and First Met folks as well as welcoming many newcomers to our community of faith, we will be providing a number of opportunities throughout the year for folks to gather and share food together. Sometimes this will be a Soup Sunday gathering, or a Wednesday night supper, or a Shrove Tuesday International pancake supper. Watch the bulletin and newsletter for invitations and information as they emerge.

Date: Feb to May, 2024
Time: TBA
Leadership: Allison RennieAs we move into our new shared space and combine all the different elements of our programing and staffing, we are at some unique crossroads as a congregation to discern what our priorities and vision might be for the next 5 years. Building on the Vision statements that have guided both BVU and FM over the last 5 years, we will review, update, and change the language and foci of our vision and mission as we set the course for ministry and service to the Capital Region District. We will seek to challenge ourselves and discern what the emerging needs of the world are and ways we can offer support, ally and hope to our surrounding communities to live into what it means to be faithful. Some of our time together will be in small groups, some in large groups, some in a day long retreat style, some with homework and feedback, some online. We will mix up a variety of possibilities to engage as much of our congregation that wants to be engaged. We are blessed to have Allison Renee be our facilitator in the process.
An educator within the UCC for over 30 years, Allison Rennie is a gifted teacher and deeply passionate about nurturing the spirituality of people all ages. The gifts of group facilitation, hosting important conversation, encouraging effective leadership for individuals and groups are all central to Allison’s practice of leadership.
