The Broad View Exercise Group is for seniors who wish to improve or maintain
their range of motion, flexibility and balance. 45 minutes of standing and
sitting exercises using hand weights and resistance bands with a stretch and
relaxation component at the end. A friendly and supportive social group.

Elementary school aged children 5-10yrs are invited to participate in our Kids’ Community Choir. This is a free choir for children to come as they are and to experience a musical space where we will have fun, connect, sing, move, and play. Choir time will be 45 minutes with snack and hangout time built in before and afterwards. Six sessions of approximately 6 weeks from September to June will be offered. The choir will share the music during worship a few times during the year.
Cheryl Dennett, our resident drummer, is a specialist in leading children of all ages.

Looking for an easy afternoon stroll andsome good company? Join the Flatlanders walking group. The walk, rain or shine,is led by rotating volunteers from the group on flat terrain for about one hourfollowed by coffee at a local cafe. All are welcome.

Livingin this world requires much of us. The ebbs and flows of life can leave uslonging for a quiet place to simply be with no agenda than to listen to thestill, small voice within and to honour the experience of the day that hasbeen. Sacred Pause at Day’s End is an opportunity to gather ‘together’ online.We will ground ourselves with a poem, a reading from a sacred text or anexcerpt from a wide body of spiritual literature, and then enter into a brieftime of contemplation, guided meditation and silence. NO previous meditationexperience is needed, only the desire to enter a space of calm and quiet.

Tai Chi Chih is a gentle form of Tai Chi whichconcentrates on health and balance rather than the martial aspects of Tai Chi.There are only 20 positions in this form, so it is easy to pick up and nospecial clothing is needed, just comfortable clothes. The group meets on Tuesdays at 9:30 starting August 27th. Thesessions begin with self-massage, a few stretches then followed by the form.The class ends at 10:30 and is free. BVU UCW is an open and welcoming group of women who meet monthly, and who would love to welcome new members to join them. Our time together includes Witness, Study, Fellowship and Service.

BVU UCW meetings include programs such as Angel Gifts, ROTOM, the BVU Sunday School, and other outreach programs. We also host special events throughout the year. October 3 is the date for the Least Coin, a service with an international tradition and perspective. In the Spring, the annual “Ecumenical Service for the World Day of Prayer will also be hosted. 

All are invited to these special events, and you do not need to be a UCW member to participate.

This group meets twice a month in BVU Chapel to collectively discuss a selected book, encouraging all to share insights. Whether you're an avid reader or just looking to join a community of fellow book lovers, this group offers a welcoming environment for all.

The group has two main focuses: First, following in the way of Jesus by supporting identified orunidentified needs in the community that are not being supported by anyoneelse, such as the Hamper Program out of the North Park Neighbourhood, theInternational Overdose Awareness Day, special teas for the seniors at Our Placeor supporting other teams such as the Justice Animation Team. Second, wrestling with our faith withour questions and doubts, and having discussions within our group, or offeringsessions like this to others. For more information, contact Rev. You don’t need a degree in the Bible tounderstand the Word, but you do need a community to be challenged andnurtured by the Word. This Bible study is based on the belief that ourlived experiences are the primary resources for us to interpret the Word.Sitting in a circle, we will create a respectful and sacred space whereevery voice is heard and honoured. We will use the same Scripture passage thatyou will hear on Sundays during each month. Our methods include, but are not limitedto, Mutual Invitation & Kaleidoscope Bible Study Process by Eric Law. Our Youth Groups meet every other week to build community and get to know one another through fun and games, snacks, discussion, and lots of laughter. You do not need to pre-register and friends are more than welcome and encouraged. This is a safe space to meet new people and test out new ways of being with their peers. Beginners and advanced creators gather for knitting, crocheting, andconversation.  We make items for donation to charitable organizations aswell as for ourselves, family and friends.  Advice is available forthose looking for help.

Join with men of all ages who simply want a chance to connect with othermen in the congregation for a time for conversation, sharing of life storiesand an exchange of ideas. Order a beverage of your choice (and a bite to eat ifyou wish), pull up a chair and enjoy a time of fellowship andcamaraderie.
